Our generation was sold the lie “Do whatever makes you happy, and you’ll be fulfilled” and we followed that advice only to find out it never satisfies. No matter what it was, it was never enough. Whether it was money, success, sex, drugs, booze, or the escape into the digital world, it never fills the void.

The Evidence

The Way Forward

What if the way forward isn’t a new flashy solution but a sturdy ancient one. A way tested by time and trial. What if the reason why nothing on this planet satisfies is because we were made for more than Earth has to offer. What if we were made for eternity?

“He has also set eternity in the human heart”

We all have it, the sense that there is so much more to life than our 9-5s and paying our taxes.The sense that we have a purpose a destiny, even if we have no clue what it is.

“This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and the one you have sent —Jesus Christ.”

This is our destiny! To have eternal life! Eternity doesn’t start when we die it starts the moment we come to know God. In Jesus we are given access to taste of eternal life now!

So what happened?

If eternal life is what I was made for why am I not experiencing it?

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

-Romans 6:23

Sin has separated us from the life of God.

What’s Sin?

In a literal sense, the word sin translates simply as “to fail” or “to miss the goal”. It is our failure to live the way we were intended to. It separates us from God and hurts us. If you want to learn more about sin, watch this video from the BibleProject!

The Good News

The good news is that even though we all have sinned, God has made a way for us to have access to him through Jesus Christ. Jesus came and lived the perfect life and died a criminal’s death, taking the judgment we deserved so that by faith in him we may have right standing with God!

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16
